Priority agendas
Inclusion Digital Agenda Collaboration Innovation Transparency Sustainability
#1
Strengthening Digital Sovereignty in Latin America
To ensure safe, autonomous and constructive use of technology by traditionally underrepresented actors, promoting their ability to influence decision-making on the digital environment.
It focuses on defending digital rights such as privacy and freedom of expression; promoting multi-stakeholder participation in digital governance spaces; and fostering the development of infrastructure, connectivity, and capabilities for the responsible use of technology.
#2
Addressing Polarization in Digital Environments
Addressing digital polarization through comprehensive strategies that transform the dynamics fueling social division and ensure digital spaces that foster pluralistic participation and respect for diversity. This focuses on promoting the participation of underrepresented groups; strengthening mechanisms against disinformation and media literacy; addressing access gaps and technological biases that impact Afro-descendant, Indigenous, and migrant communities; and tackling online violence against women and LGBTIQ+ people.
#3
Civic Innovation for Responsible Governments
Strengthening the capacity of local actors to strategically leverage data and digital tools, fostering civic innovation to promote transparent, efficient, and accountable governments. This includes an emphasis on developing more open and inclusive public management and strengthening citizen observation mechanisms in electoral processes, supporting organizations to monitor public administration, promoting the use of open data, and ensuring the participation of underrepresented groups in oversight and decision-making.
THE PROGRAM
As part of the Digital Democracy Initiative , this program promotes inclusive digital democracy in Latin America and the Caribbean, through mechanisms to strengthen pro-democratic actors in the region.
We support local civil society, both formally and informally organized, that works to consolidate civic space and democracies in the region, with financial resources, exchange spaces, training, and digital tools to enable the use of digital technology that allows them to amplify their agendas and strengthen their capacity to manage and defend themselves against digital threats.
Our role is not to be protagonists, but allies :
Through various support mechanisms, we empower, connect, give visibility to, and strengthen those who work every day for more democratic, diverse, and resilient societies.
MISSION
Strengthening inclusive democracy in Latin America and the Caribbean through financial and non-financial support to civil society organizations, promoting the safe, innovative and transformative use of digital technology to protect human rights, expand civic spaces and ensure the participation of historically underrepresented groups.
VISION
To build an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable digital democratic ecosystem where all communities—especially women, LGBTIQ+ people, youth, Afro-descendant communities, indigenous and rural communities, and other historically excluded groups and informal actors—have a voice and influence in the decisions that affect their lives, both online and offline.

MODEL
Support mechanisms
We support civil society in defending privacy, freedom of expression, digital security, equality, and universal access to information and the internet. We promote democratic internet governance, algorithmic transparency, and platform regulation. We combat polarization, disinformation, and hate speech online, supporting independent journalism and feminist, LGBTQ+, and anti-racist movements, and fostering public innovation and the development of digital infrastructure that expands access and strengthens accountability.
